JOYCE
HACKETT
is a writer and community activist. In 2004-05, she was the Jenny McKean Moore Writer-in-Washington. In Spring, 2006, she will be the Holtzbrink Fellow at the American Academy in Berlin.
Hackett holds degrees from Wellesley and Columbia, where she earned an MFA
in Creative Writing. Her work has appeared in a variety of publications,
including Harpers, Salon, Prospect (UK), London
Magazine, The Paris Review, The Chicago Tribune, The
Boston Review, The Independent, and the Berlin
daily Der Tagespiegel.
Hackett lives in New York and Washington. Her current project is Washington Write-a-Story Day, a city-wide writing day that will map the city via narrative.
